Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Parental Rights- Adoption

i'm trying to have my dad adopt my son so i can join the air force. the father of my son isn't on the birth certificate and he is currently serving a 60 yr sentence in prison for child murder from another relationship. Does he have to sign over his rights even though he never admitted or took responsbilities for my son? Or could i go through with the adoption without his consent?

Re: Parental Rights- Adoption

That would be a question to ask the attorney helping you with the adoption.
