Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Parental rights

My son has a daughter, 8. Her mother and he never married. The step father is under inditement for sexually abusing the daughter. Child Protective Services took custody and placed the child with the maternal grandparents. My son is currently in jail for theft. Last week the mother signed over her parental rights and now it is my understanding that the maternal grandparents have full custody. My son was not present or notified prior to this. Is this legal? Does he have any recourse?

Re: Parental rights

Your message indicated the mother signed over "her" parental rights, not your son's. He still has parental rights unless they were terminated some other time. He is entitled to legal notice.
