Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

parental rights terminated..

I have a son who is 14. the biological father has never had any contact with him, has never paid support and is not listed on the birth certificate. I am engaged to man who has been helping raise my son for the past almost 11 yrs. We want to terminate the biological father's rights so that my fiancee can adopt my son. How can we go about doing this? The biological father has stated that he doesn't want anything to do with my son and my son has the same feelings towards the biological father.

Re: parental rights terminated..

Find an attorney who handles step-parent adoptions. Bio dad's rights will need to be terminated. If you know where he is and he'll sign off it is a pretty straight forward proceeding.
