Parental rights

In texas if you were never married does the father have parental rights to the child.

I'm not sure what you are asking.

If there is no court order, then you are not ordered to do something. Therefore, you cannot be held in contempt of court.

If you want more information, you need to re-ask your question.

PS - no one EVER gets married these days before they have kids!

If the father wants to make sure that he is involved in his child's life, then I encourage him to go to court and get orders to make sure that he is involved in the child's life.
