Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
paternity of adult child
My sister is 48 years old and only 5 years ago found on his death bed that the man she thought was her dad, really wasn't. Now it has come out who the real father is. She approached him and he was at first going to do it, but then his wife fussed and he backed down. What legal rights does my sister have? She wants to know if he's her father.

Re: paternity of adult child
No doubt this is an extremely emotional issue, but unless there are possible future heirship rights involved, am not sure what is to be gained by involving the courts. Even if there would be potential heirship, even if she were able to force a paternity test (which I doubt), he is not obligated to include her in a will.
