Paternity

If I never signed the acknowledgement of paternity. and the child does not have my last name am I still liable to pay child support?

Yes, once the mother of the child takes you to court and the court orders you to participate in a DNA blood test. If the DNA test provides that you are the father of the child, the court can order you to pay child support, both retroactive as well as past support up to four years back. On the other hand if the court orders you to participate in the DNA test and you don't do it, the Court can still order you to pay child support. If I were you I would suck it up, hire an attorney, get into court and get the order in place so you don't end up ordered to pay current support and past support for not doing anything.
