Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Paternity

I am 26 wks pregnant and my ex boyfriend decided he isn't the father after all. I filed a Petition to Determine Parentage and Motion for Genetic Testing. Do I need to show the court that he paid for some prenatal costs and baby items? Will this help? Also, is there anything else I should file with the court? I can't afford an attorney until I start having help with prenatal expenses.

Re: Paternity

Assisting with the expenses is not particularly helpful, since the outcome of the DNA testing is the determining factor. This will not be decided until after the birth of the child. Normally, medical expenses incurred during pregnancy are attributable to the mother, not the child.
