Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

paying anothers legal fees

My grandson was not allowed to see us for over 2 years. I hired an attorney to get visatation rights. In the meantime the parents hired an attorney. We worked it out amonghst ourselves and she asked me to drop the thing with attorney. By then he was spending time with us. I had just kept him about a week ago. She called me tonite and wants me to reimburse her the 2000 she spent. Am I under any obligation to reimburse her? I still owe 1200 on a credit card. Can I ask her to reimburse me? After all, I had no choice but to hire an attorney. She would not let me see the child. and his father passed away 5 years ago. Thank You.-

Re: paying anothers legal fees

Assuming from your description that no court orders were ever entered, neither one of you has a legal obligation to pay the other one's legal fees.

Additionally, if there are no court orders, what assurance do you have that the visitation will continue, if you make her mad?
