Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I have been paying child support for my child and the amount is deducted from my paycheck. Over the summer my child is living primarily with me to see if he wants to live with me during the school year. My ex-spouse and I agreed that i would not pay child support during the summer and we would continue child support when we know which household he will reside in at the end of summer. My ex-spouse wants to write a check to me to return the amount after it is deducted from my paycheck. However when I asked my ex-spouse for a check to reimburse me for the amount deducted, the reply was, "You'll get it when you get it." What do I have to do legally to stop the child support amount that is withdrawn automatically from my pay check? And if this includes hiring a lawyer, what is the normal fee for this kind of paperwork.

I think what you're wanting to do is this: Go to court to enforce an agreement that you made with your ex-wife (who crawfished on you) about court-ordered child support.

Don't do it. It isn't worth it. She has ripped you off, and can get away with it.

By the time you filed a motion, got in front of a judge, and took your chances that the Judge might give you a stern lecture and say "no," it wouldn't be worth it.
