Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I am paying child support and was laid off and had to accept a low paying job making alot less then what I was making. I filed for a reduction but before the judge signed off on it the custodial parent was sent letters to show and she never would. The attorny generals office went ahead and sent the reduction request through to the judge and he signed off on it however it has been four months since and they still have not adjusted it because they say by law they have to contact her first can you please help me understand this and what would be my next step this has carried on four months too long.

It sounds like you should consult with / retain an attorney that deals with this type of case on a regular basis, as any reduction in the delay will pay for the cost of the attorney.

I am an Austin Injuries Lawyer and this is not the area of law where I focus in my practice, but there are several good lawyers who can help you out.

Good Luck!
