Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

A person has been ordered by the courts to pay attorney fees for the other party (in excess of $6,000).. Divorce is final.

Can this person quit his job to be a self-employed contractor for the same company, declare bankruptcy and get out of paying?

Yes.

The exception is if the attorney's fees are awarded "as child support."
