Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

personal belongings

I left b/f after 3 yrs. because of abuse, and we have a 9mth old. I am currently going to court due to having to get protective order and support for child. I left home with help of officer. Now I want all my belongings clothes, dresser, kids toys, kids computer and he won't let me have anything. What can I legally do to him? I have antique dishes that are over 30 yrs. old and 2 dressers that have been passed down through the family.

Re: personal belongings

If your hearing is with the DA for the protective order, or the AG for the support; property issues will not be addressed.

Were you common-law married? or boyfriend and girlfriend? If this was your boyfriend only, then file a lawsuit to recover your belongings. If this was a common-law marriage, file a petition for divorce to recover your belongings.
