Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Personal Property

I lived with this woman in her home for 3 mos from 2 jan 08 to 28 mar 08, I still maintained a residence aside from hers during this time. I purchased no personal property with her. My mother passed away on the 28th of february, and my family was scrambling to find money to pay for her funeral and burial, and needless to say she offered me $2,000 to pay for my end of the services. The services were paid for originally by my brother Rene who lives in Laredo, tx. This woman lent me the money on or around 17 mar 08. During this time I had already made arrangements of borrowing from my 401k plan. the money tool a while to get here as it was genuinely lost in the mail. finally, i received the money on may 6, 08, and promply met her at her bank after getting a cashiers check from my bank. I have e-mails where she states that as soon as she receives the money, my debt is paid. As of today, 27 may 08, I still have not received my property. keep in mind that this proprty was not purchased when we were together as it is all musical instruments and a cargo van that i use to move it around. please help!!!!

Re: Personal Property

If the value of your property is less than $10,000, then sue her in JP court to recover the value of your property.
