Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Pertaing to my divorce decree my ex husband and I purchased a home some 35 years ago. We lived in the home for five years after our divorce I personally paid for the house the last thirty years. I am afraid at some point he will try to collect on his half. Since the divorce decree states the house is community property. What can I do?

You are limited by (a) the specific terms of the decree or (b) what you can get Dad to agree to.

See if he's willing to sign a deed that gives his interest in the house to you. Any lawyer can perpare that kind of deed.
