Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
What happens when the Petitioner in a child custody case DOESN'T SIGN a Mediation Agreement?
We were ordered to mediation, and I didn't like the wording of the agreement; the agreement didn't address future visitation (holidays, summer, etc); the agreement didn't name me as Possessory Conservator. I am the maternal grandmother of my grandson, who was 2 years old when my daughter passed away in 2/2010. Mediation occured on 9/25/2012, and we went to court the same day. I told the court I didn't agree to the mediation agreement and I didn't sign it. I am the Petitioner. I live in Chicago, IL and the case is in Houston, Harris County, Texas.

If you didn't sign the mediation agreement, then there was no agreement; in other words, the mediation failed. That happens sometimes.
This means that the case will go to trial.
