Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Post Divorce Contempt of Court
My husband asked me for a divorce in 2001 and suggested that I go home to Iowa. He had a lawyer I did not. He went to court for the divorce and the judge ruled that he (my x-husband) was to send me half of all the proceeds from selling our possessions. My x paid me a small portion (as things were sold), but stopped way short of sending all that is legally mine. He was also in an unlawful firing (of a job)lawsuit. I just found out that there was a settlement on that lawsuit, but I haven't see any money from it. Should I take him to court?
p.s. He also had an antique gun collection that I told him he could keep and therefor it was not in the divorce decree. Can I sue him for that as well?
Thank you
p.s. He is now living in Nebraska and I am in California.

Re: Post Divorce Contempt of Court
You should contact an attorney in California and arrange to provide the attorney with all the documents from the divorce and any other documents which you may have regarding the matter. Then discuss the facts and options in you case with the attorney.
