power of attorney to my child's stepfather

i have a daughter that needs to go live with her stepfather for the next 2 years until she turns 18. i will still see her everyweekend. my daughter's biological father has joint custody, but has not seen or spoken to my daughter in 8 years. my second ex-husband has been the only father she knows since she was 6 months old. can i just do a limited power of attorney so she can live with him and he can put her in school and get her medical attention?

1. You must have the permission of the child's bio. father?

2. If the child lives with the stepfather for six months he can file for custody and get child support from both you and her real father.

What does your decree say? You may be able to make this work, with a minimal of expense and headache, but a power of attorney would not be sufficient to protect your rights as a parent. TCL
