Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Power of Attorney for filing of divorce
Can I give my dad power of attorney to act on my behalf and file my divorce papers to the court house? I am stationed overseas in the military and my divorce will be in Texas.

The State of Texas has accommodations for people in the military.
If your home area is Fort Bend of Harris County, you can contact me (or have your Dad do it for you) and I'll give you a free phone consultation.
If your home county is another county, go to the list of attorneys listed on this website and call one of them. Most of the attorneys that answer questions on this website are very committed to providing reasonable legal services and they know their stuff.
I often recommend this website for people that contact me all over the country since any attorney willing to try to help people for free is usually an unusual, compassionate and committed attorney.
I'll need to know:
your home county (when you joined the military you stated your home county)
how long have you been married
any minor children
has wife had any kids by any other man
any property or assets
any debts
is it agreed or will it be contested?
If your wife is willing to cooperate, she can save you money.
