Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I am pregnant with a baby girl, the father and i are not together. We live atleast an hour away. He is planning to try to keep her overnight when she is 0 to 3 months. I plan on breastfeeding. On top of that, I don't think it is a good idea. Do i have rights in not letting him take her? Or can he pull a fast one on me by sending me to court?

It is not pulling a fast one to go to court, it actually makes sense. The court will consider all of the factors and set some rules in place for conservatorship, possession and access, and support. It is standard to have a different set of standard possession for children under the age of three. Ideally, the two of you can mediate and settle these issues yourselves, since you will be make joint decisions for the next 18 years. Prior to the child's birth, it is worth your while to consult with and retain an attorney, so that agreements/orders can be in place shortly after the child's birth, and both of you can focus on the child, instead of the legal issues.
