Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Pregnant Daughter

I just found out that my daughter is pregnant and is expecting the baby just before her 16th birthday. Will this increase my child support obligation? Also am I responsible for the medical bills associated with the pregnancy and birth. I currently am responsible for all medical bills that the insurance does not cover, but I'm not sure if this pregnancy is included. Thank you.

Re: Pregnant Daughter

You are responsible for the portion of medical expenses for your daughter, including pregnancy and delivery, as set out in the decree.

You have no increase in child support.

You have no obligation to the medical bills for the baby.

The father of the baby is obligated to provide support and medical expense for the baby.
