Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
I am preparing to most likely represent myself in court because I cannot afford an attorney at this time. My child's biological father's rights were terminated a little over a year ago. At that time his mother already had court ordered visitations with my daughter. Now there are problems with that and I am seeking to completely get her out of the picture, because it is causing my daughter more harm than good to still have ties with his family. What types of things do I need to educate myself on to prepare for this? I know the judge will hold me to the same standards as an attorney, as far as knowing the family law codes, etc. I just want to be fully prepared and not to make any mistakes that her attorney could try to use against me.
