Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
My property
I'm pending a divorce from my husband. I live in TX and he lives in NY. We share a storage facility in Buffalo,NY from when we moved to TX. Its under his name, but My credit card pays the service. I am trying to obtain my belongings and my kid's belongings from the storage, but he has the only set of keys with him in NY. What can I do? I don't wanna stop paying or risk losing my property at the facility, and I don't have access to it until he gives me the keys. Can I go and retrieve my stuff or not?

You should ask your lawyer what to do
Re: My property
You need to talk to the storage facility. Since it's in his name he is the "owner" of the stuff in storage.
See if he'll give you permission to access the storage place.
Or, ask the storage place if the judge orders that the stuff in unit #____ is given to you, will they allow you to access it.
Just because it's on your credit card is NOT enough.
The storage facility does not want to be sued by your husband for giving away his "stuff".
You definately need an experienced family law attorney to help you in finalizing your divorce.
