Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I need a protective order--fast and temporary child support

Been married for 9.5 years. Husbands an habitual drug user, lost his job of 10 yrs. due to drug use. His job put him in AA 8 yrs.ago. He's very violent and very controlling. Mentally abusive and every now and then physically but more so mentally. I have 2 children (1 of the marriage) and have seperated from him now living w relatives. He refuses to give me any financial help, now I barely have $$ for kids and I to live. I discontinued all communication w him. He found us, went to our sons school and tried to withdraw him, but they called me and I got there before he did. He came to our home, beating on the doors and windows. I called the cops & they made him leave. School says they can't deny him if he comes to pick up our son if his name is on the birthcert. He told officers that he is withdrawing our son Mon and filing a protective order against me. I need immediate help but have no money. I check his bank acct online, he has $1,000s in his account and refuses to help me. He has a saavy atty but I don't. He's walking all over me. He's found my residence and the schools. He has possession of everything we've acquired n the marriage. house, furn, cars etc. How can I stop him & keep him away from me & my children w/o an atty?

A protective order is issued by the DA's office, and you don't need any money to do that. Just show up, and tell them you need a protective order. The physical violence (usually twice) is the criteria.

Then either hire a lawyer on a payment plan, or get the local legal services to represent you.
