I was just put on child support and I would like to get my payments lower...is there a way I can do that?

Yes. Hire an attorney to file a motion to modify. You can do this if there was a change in circumstances since the child support order, such as a reduction in the income used to calculate the support amounts. Or a change in circumstances. If you became obligated to support another child (say your new wife had a baby or you lost a paternity suit your girlfriend filed) this would reduce the support order even if you income were the same.
