Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
I would like to ask a question for free.
Is there a statue of limitation where as you can ask for retroactive child support?
If there are arrears the non custodial parent owes in child support and a change in custody being that the non custodial is now the custodial.do the arrears owed to the other parent go away because of the change in custody?
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME

A change in custody doesn't affect a child support arrearage.
The exception would be where the order that changes custody expressly addresses the child support arrearage, for instance, if it contains a sentence that says something like, "Iit is further ORDERED that the Respondent JOSHUA RODROGUES does not owe any child suppor arrearage as of January 31, 2010."
