Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

have a question about invasion of privacy laws. i've been dating/ living with someone for almost 4 years and had hunches and certain info given to me that she might be cheating on me. i installed a program on her phone that would let me see what text that she has been receiving and sending and found out that she in fact was cheating on me. would that be considered invasion of privacy?

I believe the answer is yes. I'm no expert in this field so I can't site the exact violations. There are state as well as federal laws that you might be violating.

I recommend that you immediately remove this program from her phone and never mention that you did this.

You might want to post this question on www.avvo.com too.

I think you can "google" invasion of privacy and get the answer you are looking for.

It is likely both a state and federal felony. If you get charged or even questioned, you should contact an experienced criminal attorney immediately.
