Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
I have a question about nursing a child and the courts?
I have a freind who is a single mom, she breast fed her son until he was 4, she no longer has milk of course, but only at bedtime he still likes to nurse it helps him fall asleep, like some kids have woobies, some have binkeys, some kids have thisbond with there mom to sleep and feel secure, I dont see anything wrong with it. Will the courts have a problem with this? and view at as unfit or wrong? She tells hers son he is getting older and he must stop, but he refuses. so there working on it.

Is there a pending legal case?
I cannot answer your question since I am not a specialist in child development.
I would strongly urge your friend to go to a child development specialist to discuss her child's refusal to stop trying to nurse at hte age of 4.
She needs to have a mental health specialist that is willing to testify that this is a normal child and his behavior is normal.
I would urge her to find someone within the next few days if there is a pending (or threatened) lawsuit.
Texas judges looks at "the best interests of the child" to make their decisions. Some judges would find this abnormal. Therefore, she would need a specialist to support her behavior.
It sounds like the child might need to be in some sort of therapy.
