Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

question about standard possession orders in Texas for the summer months. I am the dad and will be leaving on vacation with my daughter this Friday July 1st at 6pm through Sunday July 24th. How many of the 30 extended vacation days will I be using (ex do I count the weekends I would have had her already such as 1st and 3rd weekends)? Also our papers say extended summer vacation begins and ends at 6pm. Does that mean I have to waste a whole day but still count a vacation day even if we don't get her till 6pm. Thank you

It's difficult to answer this question when I don't have your order in front of me. Most of the time, when we're drafting a standard possession order, we just lift the verbiage out of a form and transfer it directly into the order. However, the person who drafted your particular order might have tweaked it somewhat.

But if you have a "standard" standard possession order: you get 30 days, and your order specifies the beginning and ending times. The provisions for holidays and extended summer possession trump the provisions having to do with weekends; weekends don't figure in at all. READ THE ORDER and assume that it says what it means.
