Raising child support

my wife was dvorced in Texas then moved to Florida and we married. How does she go about taking her x-husdand back to court to raise the child support for her sons college. she has called him and asked to help but comes up with some lame excuse to help.

You would have to transfer the case to FL. It would depend whether the original order allowed for support after age 18 - most decrees allow for support only to the age of 18.

Texas court retains jurisdiction. Check with an attorney there. Florida will not impose new obligations upon a parent where the child has attained majority.

She will have to return to Texas or request transfer of the case to Florida. Whether she can get support for college expenses depends on final judgment of dissolution. You are advised to consult with local family law attorney who can review specific issues: if getting the support for college is questionable, transferring it to Florida may not be worthwhile.
