Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
rebelling son
Our 20 year old son left home two weeks ago. He was attending the community college and working part time. He left in a huff with nothing but the clothes on his back and a handful of other things. He has been very obnoxious with us on the phone. He came a couple of days ago to get his clothing and we gave them to him. Now he wants his other things (car, stereo, cds, etc.). We bought the car for him and he was required to pay us back. He still owes us $650.00, and we told him when he paid us he could have it. He also owes us other bills (phone, cell phone, etc.) and we said he would have to pay those to get his other things back. Now he says he is talking to a lawyer to sue us for his things. Where do we stand?

Re: rebelling son
Let him talk. Where is he getting money to talk to a lawyer. I have particular personal experience in these matters; and your claims for repayment may depend upon the agreement between you. Even if it was oral, it is enforceable because it was performable within 2 years.
