Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I received a subpeona to testify in court for a family custody hearing. We did not testify at the first hearing but we were sworn in for the next hearing date. I have panic attacks and am on medication for stress. When I went to court for the first hearing I was shaking so bad it was obvious. Can I do a affidavit with my statement regarding the case? My health will not be able to withstand during this hearing.
