Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I recently adopted my stepdaughter. She is 32 years old and has 2 children of her own and wanted to protect my rights as their grandfather. She has been my stepdaughter since she was 9 years old. My question is, when we did the adult adoption, did her name change as well? Or does she continue to use her biological father's last name or is it up to her which she uses. We are just curious, it really doesn't make a difference but it's a question her lawyer in the adoption didn't address. Thanks.

It is her choice, she can change it if she wants to.
