Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
I have recently been awarded custody of my 8 year old due to filing for child support but the father is about to get her the first, third and fifth weekend of every month. My daughter is very active in league softball and sometimes has games on the weekends. He father has refused to bring her if it is his weekend. Is he allowed to do this since it is not a school activity?
1 Answer from Attorneys
The parent that has the child takes the child to the activity. If you cannot work this out, then consider mediating or asking the court to modify the current court order. It is an extra-curricular activity -- is that covered in your legal document. I assume you used TX A G form - it's a basic form. If you have used a private attorney then that issue should have been addressed in the final paperwork.
