Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I was recently charged with assaulth causing bodily injury family violence because my boyfriend and I got into an arguement and he told the cops that I scratched him and pulled his hair. He wrote in his witness report that nothing happened. Should I get a court appointed lawyer so that he or she can tried to not let this go to court? If that even a possibility that is won't go to court?

Your boyfriend should contact the prosecutor and ask about signing a non-prosecution affidavit. If he can't get anybody to talk to him on the phone, he should spend 44 cents and write them a letter.
