Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
I recently went to court for my divorce. The big issue was child custody. My ex admitted to drinking throwing partys and also never having my son. His mother and father take care of him for him. When we went to court we proved i was the one who took care of him and also provided for him. We proved i have never had partys or drank while he was with me. The judge awarded my ex primary because he said, "he had more family support and he liked how my ex's family picked up his slack" I am currently working as well as going to school. My ex is doing neither with his parents paying for his utilies. My lawyer got extended vistitaion added on at the end. My ex's family is a highly respected family in this little town where we had court. I was wondering what i could do to get primary of my son back? Anything you could tell me will help. Thanks!

File a motion for new trial, and then an appeal. Plan to spend at least $15,000.00.
