Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I recently divorced my husband, in the divorce settlement I agreed to pay him a monthly amount, when I finished with the payments he agreed to release a lean on the property of my house so I could have a clean title.

I was late in two of the payments but they all went through, but on the LAST payment I used the wrong checkbook by mistake and the payment did not go through... he signed and released the lean on my property and I payed a week later and the payment went through... now he wants me to pay the fees charged by the bank because of that last payment. I said I would only pay these fees if I had a clear documentation of them, he responded that I would be hearing from his lawyers.. what shoud I do?

Based on what you have written, the fees that your ex has incurred due to your late payment may end up being your responsibility. It appears that you were not unreasonable when asking for proof that the fees were actually owed and not dropped by your ex's bank. If you receive a letter from his attorney's office, then you should consider talking to a law firm and see what options may be available.
