Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Recently, my ex-husband's wife said they needed a copy of my driver's license to provide to their lawyer. This seemed odd to me, what reason would they have and would I be required to give them this ?

Make them tell you WHY. Ask them for the phone number of this lawyer. This sounds really suspicious to me.
