Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
I was recently informed that my name came out in a divorce trial custody hearing as a participating party in an affair. The client that brought this to his attorney with no proof as it was not true. The attorney happens to be very good friends with my wife. Does he have an obligation to keep the information that comes out in court confidential?

Information that "comes out in court" is never confidential (except in rare cases where the record is sealed). It's a public record.
If someone accuses you of adultery in open court, people will either believe it or they won't - same as if the allegation is made anywhere else. Depending on the circumstances, you may have grounds for a lawsuit for slander.
