Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I was recently served with a emergency motion to restrict parenting time. The father, who has only had the kids for a year, told the court that my husband and I physically and mentally abuse the children. I have 35 days to respond. My question, however, is can I file a emergency motion in the state I live in even though he has filed one in the state he lives in. I reside in Texas and he resides in Colorado. Thank you for your time.

If the controlling order has issued out of a Colorado court, then you need a Colorado attorney. Motions of this nature are handled by the court which has jurisdiction over the children.
