Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I recieved a letter in the mail. It reads Notice of court setting. The above cause will be dismissed for want of prosecution on the court's motion on the october, unless a motion to retain is filed prior to that date. Does this mean I have to go to court. The letter is from Travis county and I live in El paso. I have no car and I have a small child. I can not get up and leave to somewhere. Please tell me I do not have to go.

If you don't mind the case being dismissed, then you don't have to go to Court.

If you do NOT want the case to be dismissed, you should call the court (not the district clerk) and ask what their procedures are. You might not have to go to court.
