Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Can there be any recourse

My husband recently found out that he had a 4 year old daughter, did the paternity test and everything. he was awarded joint custody and as the papers state to be put on the the birth certifcate since there was another man already on there. Last week we went to his daughters school and found out that her mom put the other man's information inthe fathers place, my husband was not mentioned anywhere on any papers. but as the school has told us she has mentioned to just about everyone ex: teachers parents that she and my husband are married but separated because he's having an affair with me. in truth they were never married. it's starting to make me worry that all of this is happening. what legal action if any can be taken?

Do you have proof of these statements? These might be considered defamation. In order to stop the spread of these false statments, you could file for a Temporary Restraining Order seeking a permanent injunction. Damages for these false statements are available. This could be a little expensive - perhaps $3,000 - $7,000 or more.
