Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Refusing to pay Medical Bills

I have given my Ex-Husband all the receipts from our Childrens Denist, Doctor, eye doctor and even though the divorce decree requires him to pay 1/2 of all the expences he is just not paying. He knows it will cost me more to hire an attorney than the bills are. What do I do to make him pay?

There are plenty of fine attorneys in your areas that will work out a payment plan. If you have to enforce a court order, your attorney may be able to recover attorney's fees from him.

How deliquent is he? Is is only for the medical bills or is there back child support as well?

You will need to file contempt on him in order to get him to pay.

In a contempt matter, your attorney should ask that the Judge order him to pay all or part of your attorney's fees.

Good luck!
