Relinquishing the Father's Parental rights
I have a case pending to relinquishing the mt children's Father's Parental rights. My attorney informed me that the court has appointed an attorney to represent my children. Can that happen and why?

Yes.
Why? Because someone needs to determine if this termination is in the best interests of your children.
The attorney ad litem will probably try to collect any unpaid child support too.
Also - if the father cannot afford an attorney, he can get one for free.
Many courts will NOT terminate a parent's parental rights unless there is a new parent to take the place of the old parent.
