Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

relocation

I am worried that my daughters mother is thinking about moving to Denver. Presently we all live in the Dallas/ Ft. Worth area. Can a judge order her to stay near me? I provide support and am involved in her daily life. What are the steps I may have to take. Thank you for your time.

Re: relocation

If your decree has a geographical restriction, and you have solid evidence that mom is moving, file suit now to stop her, or to modify conservatorship.

If your decree does not have a geographical restriction, file suit to modify the decree to impose the restriction.

Re: relocation

Sounds like you need to enforce or get and then enforce a geographical restriction through the court.
