Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I am getting re-married soon and my wedding will be in Mexico. I would like to take my only child with me (one night and two days in a border city). My decree does not specifically address the issue of taking the child out of the country. Am I within my rights to take the child without notifying my ex?

None. You have to notify him and you will not be able to take the child legally without his permission. Some divorce decrees say that the decree itself serves as permission, but if yours is silent on that issue, then you need his permission.
