Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Re-Marry

I was told that you can not marry for 30 days after the final decree is submited. Is that true, if not is there any waiting period.

Re: Re-Marry

Generally in Texas, you must wait 30 days after the divorce if final before you can remarry.

If you had asked for a Waiver of the 30-day waiting period and the Judge approved it, then you would not have to wait. You did not mention that document, so I assume that you did not do that document.

Pleae make sure you are divorced.

Otherwise, you would be committing bigomy.

I have no idea what "submitted" to the Court means. Submitting the paperwork is not enough to get divorced in Texas. One of the parties needs to be put under oath by the Judge and "prove it up".

Good luck!
