Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Removal of Disabilities of Minor in Texas

We have a 17 year old daughter, she has quit school, been to two residential treatment centers in the last year, once for drugs the other behavior. Basically, she is constantly threatening to move out. She does not have license and it supposed to be starting a job next week. She has not been ''acting out'' lately, we have required her to go to counseling, she refuses to do anything asked around house and is ok as long as she gets her way. Pretty much we are ok to let her go, we've done all we can do and her resistance only gets stronger. I don't think we can have her emancipated because of all of her issues, yet we don't want to be held liable if she does something illegal. The person she wants to move in with is a single mother with couple kids, I don't think she is going to take over parental responsibilty. What are our options? Is there a way to allow her to move out without being responsible for her financially or legally? She will not be 18 until April of next year.

Unless she is legally emancipated, you remain obligated until she turns 18 years old.
