Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

i request for child support, but i no longer want it. we have a court date march 10th 2011. is it too late for me to cancel it and if we dont show up, will that cause problems with the law?

I can't totally answer it.

If you accepted money from the state or federal government, then they have an interest in getting money back from the father. When you accepted food stamps, WIC or medicaid for the child, you signed paperwork agreeing to allow the Texas Attorney General to go against the father to get the government's money back.

You really need to talk to a private attorney.

If you don't show, it will slow the process but it might not stop it. I don't know.
