Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

How do I request time to find a lawyer? We have joint custody set already and he is trying to swap our places in the papers. He wants to get me to pay his lawyer fees as well.

File a motion for continuance asking for time to save money and hire an attorney. If you don't do that, then ask the court for more time at the next hearing. It is MUCH better to file the motion because some courts are not very generous with continuances raised in court verbally.
