Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Reserved Jurisdiction

My husband and I have custody of his 2 chilren and have had them for 5 years. We went to court in the state of Alabama and the judge reserved jurisdiction over the kids until they are of the age to consent on their own. My husband is in the Army and we are stationed in Texas and that is where the ex-wife lives. She is now trying to take us to court after 5 years for unsupervised standard visitation(she only has supervised now). Can the case be heard in Texas if Alabama reserved jurisdiction over the kids? We are not in Texas by choice. The Army made up come here and we are not considered residents.

Re: Reserved Jurisdiction

You need to file a special appearance to see whether the court would exercise jurisdiction. It appears that the court may, I would need to see the order from Alabama.
